The Trailer:
In The Legend of Hercules (2014), the battle between power and destiny takes center stage. The young hero Hercules, played by Kellan Lutz, grows up as Alcides, the son of King Amphitryon and Queen Alcmene. But in truth, he is the son of Zeus, the king of the gods, born to liberate his people from tyranny. This dual identity makes his journey one of inner struggle and growth. King Amphitryon, portrayed by Scott Adkins, is the ruthless ruler of Tiryns. He craves absolute power and governs with an iron fist. His thirst for war spreads unrest, and his marriage to Alcmene is devoid of love. When he discovers that Hercules is not his son but a child of the gods, he murders his wife with a dagger out of rage and humiliation.
With Amphitryon's death, Hercules fulfills his divine destiny. He becomes king, unites his people, and witnesses the birth of his own son—ushering in a new era. Scott Adkins brings Amphitryon to life as an intense, physically dominant antagonist. His role as a cruel king, treacherous husband, and ultimate adversary is essential to Hercules’ transformation from hidden prince to legendary savior.
