The Bourne Ultimatum is a 2007 American action thriller
directed by Paul Greengrass. The film is loosely based on
the novel of the same name by Robert Ludlum and serves
as the third installment in the original Bourne trilogy. Matt
Damon returns in the lead role as Jason Bourne, a former
CIA assassin suffering from amnesia. The story picks up
directly after the events of The Bourne Supremacy and
follows Bourne as he travels across the globe in search of
the truth behind his past and the origins of the secret
Treadstone program.
The story begins when a journalist from The Guardian,
Simon Ross, tries to uncover information about a secret
project known as Blackbriar. When his investigation
catches the attention of the CIA, Bourne is inadvertently
drawn back into the conflict. He travels across Europe and
North Africa—from London to Madrid and from Tangier to
New York—while being pursued by the CIA and
simultaneously regaining crucial memories from his past.
His search ultimately leads him to the origins of his own
training and identity, revealing that he had voluntarily
submitted himself to the Treadstone program.
Scott Adkins has a very short minor role as Agent Kiley.
