Doctor Strange, 2016
In Doctor Strange, Adkins plays the part of a secondary antagonist named Lucian, one of the zealots who
follow Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) in his plot to bring Dormmamu into the world.
Though Adkins doesn't have many lines (if any at all), he does get in a rousing fight with Cumerbatch's
Stephen. Audiences will recall their astral forms battling above an operating room; the scene culminates with
Stephen electrocuting Lucian and taking both him and his astral form out.
In a new interview with The Illuminerdi Adkins explained why he regrets playing Lucian in Doctor Strange. It
has nothing to do with the character himself or the content of the film, but more about what it means for
Adkins' future within the MCU. "That is one role that I regret taking," Adkins said. "I wish I would have held out
and not taken the role, because now I feel I’ve blown my chance to be in the Marvel Universe."
